Guanajuato

Guanajuato is a central state of Mexico, known as the cradle of the country's independence. Its capital, of the same name, houses the Alhóndiga de Granaditas granary, where the first battle against Spain of the 19th century took place. The Mummies of Guanajuato

The Normal mummies are a set of naturally mummified bodies, which have been discovered after exhumation in tombs in the cemetery of Guanajuato, Gto. Currently being one of the largest tourist attractions in that Mexican state, the mummies are exhibited in the “Guanajuato Mummies Museum.” Currently there are more than one hundred mummies that are part of the museum's inventory. It has a themed exhibition that annually attracts hundreds of thousands of visitors.
